How long does it take to get my timelapse film at the end of the service?

The normal turnaround time is ten working days, but we can reduce this on request. If you need a timelapse film more quickly, for an inauguration or any other event, we can meet this request, provided we have been informed of your requirements at least two weeks before the end of the operation. Answers to all the questions you may have about site supervision.

Does site supervision work in all climates?

We’ve developed an ultra-resistant box, tested and approved from -20 to +50°!

Our SLR camera is installed in a box developed and manufactured by TimeLapse Go’. The box and all its electrical and electronic components have been designed and tested to operate in the most extreme climates.

For example, one of the test devices operated without any intervention or maintenance for almost twenty-four months, in the Amazon rainforest in French Guiana! Subjected to torrential rain, humidity levels sometimes close to 100% and stifling heat, we didn’t even have to clean the glass!

Although their white color helps keep the temperature down, in summer our stalls are regularly subjected to temperatures in excess of 50°, with no consequences up to 69°!

In the opposite configuration, the extreme cold, our stalls are designed to operate at temperatures as low as minus twenty degrees. Some of them are installed on snow-covered peaks, and here too we have no problems whatsoever.

Will I have access to all the photos on the tracking interface?

Yes, and in near real time.

At TimeLapse Go’, we don’t want to take the risk of storing images locally; all shots are instantly sent to our servers and accessible on your secure, personalized tracking interface.

Images that remain stored on the device’s memory card are likely to disappear if the box is stolen or vandalized, or even to be damaged in the event of an accident. By sending just a few shots a day to the tracking site, we run the risk of jeopardizing your timelapse in the event of an incident. What’s more, your site monitoring cannot be limited to just a few shots a day.

With TimeLapse Go’, this risk doesn’t exist: each shot is instantly sent to our secure server, and you can view it within seconds on your tracking site. No matter how long your project lasts, you can access all your shots at any time via your responsive tracking interface.

Answers to any questions you may have around the application of the GDPR to our services.

What is the GDPR?

Regulation nᵒ 2016/679, the so-called General Data Protection Regulation, is a European Union regulation that is the reference text for personal data protection. It strengthens and unifies data protection for individuals within the European Union. In our case, the data affected by the GDPR are the photographs we take and store.

Does site supervision comply with the GDPR?

Photo d'un appareil photo avec du texte en dessous.

Only shots where one or more people are easily recognizable are affected by the GDPR. Even though our shots are astonishingly accurate, distance and the use of PPE (especially hard hats) mean that we can’t accurately identify people in 97% of our shots. It is therefore completely pointless and counterproductive to systematically degrade the shots by blurring them.

Indoor or small-area monitoring of construction sites can result in shots where people are likely to be clearly recognizable. As this type of site usually involves few people, we recommend that you give advance warning to personnel likely to be working in the field, and display a notice informing them of the presence of our system. We supply a standard notice, informing those concerned of their rights, and giving details of how to contact us for further information.

Does Timelapse comply with the GDPR?

Broadcasting a timelapse cannot contravene the GDPR, since the scrolling speed of the images de facto renders anyone unrecognizable. It’s only the storage of the images that can in some very rare cases be problematic, see “Does construction site monitoring comply with the GDPR?”.

Is it possible to photograph areas outside the worksite? If people are identifiable, and only if their faces are identifiable, then effectively the GDPR forbids us from storing images of areas outside the worksite, which is why we have developed a technology that allows us to blur areas outside the worksite on the shots. Once the site monitoring box is in place, the blurring is definitively carried out on the cliché as soon as it is received, so we only store the photo with the sensitive area blurred.

This service has been implemented for shots taken on defense-secret sites in the nuclear sector, and has been validated by the best security experts.

How do you know whether to blur or not?

Our experts will advise you as soon as they study your request, and provide you with an GDPR-compatible response. You can then decide what you want to do, with all the necessary information at your disposal. As soon as the box is installed, you’ll be able to view the shots you’ve taken by logging on to the personalized monitoring interface. We can adjust or correct the blurred areas at any time, depending on the evolution of your project or the environment.

Answers to all the questions you may have about construction site monitoring, timelapse .

Can you make timelapses indoors?

Yes, we do a lot!

Our site monitoring box can be installed indoors, whether in factories or to monitor office refurbishments, renovations or even frescoes. Indoors, we can plug into a 220V power supply, or even be completely battery-operated if required. Our batteries can run for up to a month. Beyond that, we’ll need to replace them every month.

If your home doesn’t have 4G reception, we can either link up to an existing wifi network if there is one (a wifi repeater can even be used to pick up wifi wirelessly if it’s some distance away), or install a remote 4G antenna up to 100 m from the box, provided we can stretch a cable between the two. Our project managers are at your disposal to help you find the right solution.
