Discover the latest timelapse of the restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris

The Etablissement public Rebâtir Notre-Dame de Paris, has posted on its social networks the latest timelapse shot by our teams on the reconstruction of Notre-Dame de Paris.

TimeLapse Go’, which won the Timelapse contract to oversee the reconstruction of the spire and roof, has the privilege of following these pharaonic works and summarizing them in captivating visual stories. In this timelapse, you’ll discover how the scaffolding was erected to support the new spire, as well as the installation of the stool that will support it on the transept crossing, and the new roof structure.

More than a timelapse, it’s a magnificent symbol of resilience and hope.

Here, condensed into 1 minute, are 9 months’ work by the extraordinary craftsmen and craftswomen on this extraordinary project to restore the 96 m-high spire of Notre-Dame to its former glory.

1 minute of thrills

Our timelapse, shot from three different angles, is much more than just a sequence of accelerated images. It’s a tribute to human strength and determination, to the ability to rise above adversity and rebuild, stronger than ever. It’s a celebration of the collaboration and ingenuity that made this technical and artistic feat possible.

As privileged witnesses to this adventure, TimeLapse Go’ is proud to present this accelerated summary of the installation of the framework, and the erection of the scaffolding in which Notre-Dame’s new spire was assembled.

Back to events

Since the devastating fire that ravaged part of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris on April 15, 2019, the whole world has been closely following the reconstruction efforts of this emblematic monument. Among the crucial stages of this titanic undertaking, the installation of the cathedral’s new spire has finally been completed, and the scaffolding that protected this iconic work of art is now slowly stripping away, uncovering the exact replica of the neo-Gothic spire designed by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in 1859. The original medieval spire, weakened by weathering, had been dismantled in the eighteenth century.

When we were selected to follow the rebirth of Notre-Dame’s new spire in images and timelapse, we immediately grasped the importance of this mission. Thanks to our expertise, we saw this opportunity as a chance to capture the very essence of the resilience and hope that drive this reconstruction project.
